A Report to the Citizens of Texas
Fiscal Year 2012
The Texas Comptroller’s office is committed to improving Texas government transparency and setting new standards for accountability in our state. Citizen-centric reporting of government financial information is a growing national trend, and another way the state of Texas is informing citizens in plain language on how their tax dollars are being spent.
A Report to the Citizens of Texas is our state’s citizen-centric report, highlighting Texas’ financial information in a concise, easily understood format. In each report, citizens will find out about:
- Major factors shaping the state’s economy and way of life
- Performance measures of interest to citizens
- Financial information presented with user-friendly tables, pie charts and graphs
- Challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for Texas
