Renewing your certification
Certificates are issued for a five (5) year period. Each individual is responsible for renewing their certification at least 30 days prior to the expiration date. You will be required to submit verifying documentation of 120 continuing education hours with your application for renewal. The hours may be averaged over the five (5) year period with no more than 45 hours during any one (1) year period. TPASS recommends accumulating 24 continuing education hours per year. In the event you fail to meet the continuing education requirement, your certification will expire. If you wish to apply for certification again, you will be required to re-take the certification test, reapply for certification, and pay the appropriate fees.
Renewing your certification can be a cumbersome process due to the years of accumulated documentation required. For this reason, you must view the "How do I Recertify?" (PPS) presentation in order to access the online renewal application.
Use of this system should occur at least 30 but not more than 60 days prior to your expiration date as certifications are not viewed on a first come first served basis, but rather by date of expiration.
If your agency requires you to maintain active CTP/M certification after you achieve CTCM certification, your continuing education hours towards your CTP/M certification will also apply to your CTCM certification as long as they fall within the active and expiration dates of your CTP/M certification.60 of those hours must be directly related to contract management activities and 60 hours must be directly related to procurement activities.
